flying_acid_monkey@yahoo.co.ukSo, I'm Curuevo and I'm rather terrible about explaining Me... hence I haven't updated this thing for a while, but here goes!
I'm 21 and I live in a tiny town in the North West of England where very little happens. I recently finished an English Lit degree in Lancaster University, and am still fascinated by the theories. A combination of lit theory, a really irritating dissertation tutor, another (more helpful) tutor, and some bad-influence books my dissertation is a bit literary feminist, but in a good way. It's also very odd - which is even better :)
Literary feminist - meaning, basically, that I'm not particularly a feminist in "Real Life", I just like the idea of equal rights for all, regardless of sex, race, etc. In a literary environment, however, I feel women can get quite a raw deal and certain texts are guaranteed to send me into incandescent rants of feminism. Never ever discuss the representation of women in John Milton's /Paradise Lost/ with me unless you want to see me turn an interesting red colour, and then blue when I forget to breathe as I am holding forth... at least it makes people chuckle.
I also have a tendancy to rant about the news in RL, which has lead to me being banned and then banning myself from wwatching the news on tv if other people are around. Especially around one of my former flatmates who, after hearing me rant about certain politicians one day has made it her life's mission to one day get me onto "Question Time" so that I can abuse politician's in person, on tv, and get myself arrested. I think, on the whole, I would prefer this not to happen. ;)
I love reading in all it's forms, and writing - fanfiction as well as original fiction. I'm working on several pieces of original fiction, but one with particular intensity and more seriousness than the others. My fanfiction's are all in hiatus, as they have been for a while - writers block combined with lack of time is not conducive to good writing or, in fact, any writing at all. I do have a few stories (complete and otherwise) up on HASA (henneth_annun), under the moniker 'Evils Hero' - Silmarillion and LOTR based. There are others up from many years ago in another fandom but we do not talk about those anymore... I'm most fond of 'Of Cliffs and Kin' on HASA (hint, hint). I love criticism and commentary on stories, but I'm not going to complain either way.
I'm not a very good visual artist, but three things I do like; glass painting, making bead-jewllery and creating strange little icons on the computer. I'm not great at either, but I do enjoy them. My mother is not as keen on the glass painting because it means she has lots of little glass bits and bobs scattered about the house.
I can be a bit wierd... especially if I'm short on sleep, as so frequently happens, but I'm generally friendly even if I'm in a grumpy/wierd mood. Apparently I am incapable of remaining still and quiet for more than five minutes at a time which my two best uni-friends found unaccountably amusing. Especially when it mades me start singing in lectures/drawing the Loch Ness Monster on all our notes or wander 'round proclaiming that I shall be Empress of the World in the future (which is gonna happen. I think).
I'm perfectly happy to talk to pretty much anyone about pretty much anything, as long as you're not dangerous or creepy. Feel free to friend me if you so wish, or drop me a "hello"/question, etc, and if you don't seem crazy in a bad way I'll most likely friend you back. Anything else you want to know about me, feel free to ask!
